Romsdal Style
Romsdal style painters were from the west coast of Norway. The west coast got a late start in rosemaling. Romsdal also had painters come from Telemark, Hallingdal and Gudbrandsdalen. The annual Romsdal fair brought many traveling people which affected it's folk art.
This style had little influence of Rococo or Baroque but rather concentrated on urns of flowers, wreaths and flowered branches. Use of stencils with painted fill-ins was popular with some painters.
